I was going through some old pics (of the Before Times), and came across this gem...my band Delta Rae has been lucky enough to play the legendary Grand Ole Opry 13 times over years!
The Opry is really a radio show, with a dozen artists per show so the change-overs are SUPER fast.
It's a classic situation: the most nerve-wracking and high stakes gigs always have the least amount of time to get comfortable on stage!
Perhaps that helps create magic musical moments: we don't have time to get comfortable with the stage/sound and as a result each performer has to FOCUS on their own performance and really LISTEN to each band member.
Getting a little uncomfortable can sometimes create some magical musical moments.
